i2o Retail plans to introduce Argus this fall, giving consumer brands a new way to investigate price drops, track sellers and review pricing-policy violations. The artificial intelligence agent will let teams ask about their marketplace data in everyday language and see the records behind the answers.

Argus is the AI agent built by i2o Retail. It sits across the pricing, MAP, Buy Box, seller and availability data i2o already monitors for a brand across 2,000 retail sites, including Amazon and Walmart, and answers questions about that data in plain language, with the records behind every answer.

The planned debut will bring Argus into the i2o platform alongside the reports and dashboards clients already use. It is designed for pricing, e-commerce and brand protection teams, as well as agencies managing marketplace channels. Rather than search the open web, Argus works from each brand's own monitored records.

A price drop can set off a chain of changes across retailers. Argus helps teams trace that sequence: which seller moved first, who followed and whether Amazon matched a lower price. Teams can examine when a change occurred and how large it was, using price monitoring data to look beyond the price currently displayed.

The same approach applies to minimum advertised price, or MAP, policies. A pricing manager can identify authorized sellers advertising below the permitted price, the size of each gap and how long it has lasted. Violation histories distinguish new cases from active, resolved or persistent breaches, giving teams context for deciding what needs attention.

Automated catalog management helps keep those comparisons tied to the right products. i2o's AI-powered product matching connects a brand's products to retailer listings, even when sellers use different titles or descriptions. That reduces manual listing-by-listing mapping and helps teams avoid comparing one item with a similar-looking but different product.

Behind Argus are prices captured four times a day across 2,000 retail sites, automated product matching and authorized seller lists maintained for each brand. Those records let teams compare prices across Amazon, Walmart and other retailers, identify where an item is cheapest and review products that have remained below their reference price.

Seller activity adds another part of the picture. Teams can examine who holds or has lost the Buy Box, the marketplace's featured purchase offer, and whether that seller is authorized. The platform's seller tracking also provides context on sellers that repeatedly cut prices across a brand's products.

Argus also addresses listings that are out of stock or suppressed, including how long those conditions have lasted. Teams can look across categories, retailers and sellers for patterns of price erosion, compliance pressure or recovery, then export the supporting data to Excel for further review.

The initial scope is to read, explain and export data, not to act independently. Action-taking features are planned after launch, with Argus drafting proposed actions for a person to approve. Nothing will execute on its own. Argus is intended to work alongside digital shelf analytics, not replace it.

Client data stays inside i2o's cloud environment and is never used to train an AI model. Answers are generated from the brand's own records, which can be shown alongside the response. Every question and answer is logged so the answer can be reconstructed later.

i2o Retail provides marketplace monitoring and brand protection for consumer brands and the agencies that serve them. Its platform tracks pricing, MAP compliance, Buy Box activity, sellers and availability across retail sites, including Amazon and Walmart.
