PLANO, Texas, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Segway, a global leader in the micromobility and LEV space, today introduces the MUXI Pro short-tail cargo electric bike, an upgraded version of its popular MUXI. Building on the successful platform of the brand's original utility e-bike, MUXI Pro adds 9-speed electronic auto-shifting, a front suspension fork with 70 millimeters of travel and turn signals for practicality, ride quality and visibility. Front and rear fenders also now come standard. Available in two new colorways—Anthracite and Reef Blue—MUXI Pro retails for $1,999.99 MSRP and is available today in the US at authorized Segway dealers and at store.segway.com.

Like its predecessor, the MUXI (pronounced "moo-shee") Pro is a class-selectable e-bike*, but adds Class 3 to its resume thanks to the 9-speed drivetrain allowing a pedal-assisted 28-mph* top speed. Built on MUXI's iconic swooping, double-tube frame, MUXI Pro wraps utility and versatility into a sleek, compact design that marries vintage vibes with a futuristic flourish.

The low standover height and upright riding position coupled with a low center of gravity make MUXI Pro easy to mount and dismount as well as stable and confident while riding, even when carrying cargo. A new Passenger Kit ($119.99) that includes a seat, foot pegs and wheel guards designed to accommodate the Pro's drivetrain can carry a second passenger (up to 120 pounds) for those who want to share the ride. The same Middle Basket ($129.99) and Front Basket ($99.99) available for the original MUXI also fit the Pro, adding additional carrying capacity. MUXI Pro is also compatible with Segway's Xiro Automatic Dropper Post ($229.99), Rearview Radar ($99.99) and e-Bike Rearview Mirror ($29.99).

But MUXI Pro is more than style and grace—it's got plenty of grunt thanks to a 750-Watt motor and 80 Nm of torque. Coupled with Adaptive Assist and Algorithm 2.0, it delivers smart, refined power. Advanced sensors and ultra-fast processing provide pedal assist that is smooth and natural feeling without jerky or delayed starts, and increase power when you need it—like going up a hill—but preserve it when you don't for up to 73 miles of range.

MUXI Pro's direct-drive motor also offers additional ways to improve confidence and control, especially with a heavy load. Hill Descent Control provides controlled descending and reduced brake wear while giving back to the battery with Regenerative Braking for improved efficiency. Hill-Start Assist prevents rollbacks and the Traction Control System (TCS) detects wheelspin to help maintain MUXI Pro's composure on slick or loose surfaces.

Segway's Intelligent Ride System also carries over, which features advanced security features like Apple Find My and AirLock proximity locking/unlocking, Lost Mode* that allows users to remotely disable the e-bike and/or battery if stolen, Over the Air (OTA) update support for six systems, a full-color, HD TFT display, an intelligent lighting system with auto headlights, and real-time health and fitness data app syncing.
