BOSTON, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Community Catalyst, the nation's leading health advocacy organization, today announced the continuation of its critical work advocating with and on behalf of people who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid insurance.

"Community Catalyst has always been a national leader in this space and we are excited to continue our longstanding, fruitful partnership with Arnold Ventures in service of improving the lives and care for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities." - Linda Goler Blount

With ongoing support from Arnold Ventures, over the next year Community Catalyst will build an informed and bipartisan group of congressional champions ready for reform while also educating federal administrators about actionable opportunities to improve integration and oversight of the programs. The organization will help decisionmakers in the federal government understand the links between cost containment, accountability, and equity outcomes specifically for dual-eligible individuals.

"Community Catalyst has always been a national leader in this space and we are excited to continue our longstanding, fruitful partnership with Arnold Ventures in service of improving the lives and care for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities," said Linda Goler Blount, MPH, President and CEO of Community Catalyst. "In the last several years we have made significant strides in both elevating the stories of people who are dually eligible and helping communities lift up common sense and actionable policy solutions to improve care and drive down costs."

Through the past partnerships with Arnold Ventures, Community Catalyst has combined research, community engagement, and storytelling to: advance person-centered care for people dual-eligible people; elevate beneficiary experiences in policy conversations; and inform solutions to improve integrated care, home and community-based services access, and healthy aging.

Just as critical, the organization has empowered dual eligible individuals to tell their own stories. They are people like Kaitlin, who lost nearly everything when she became chronically ill, but was able to rebuild her life thanks to Medicare and Medicaid insurance working together to cover the prescriptions and supports she needed. Or people like Katie, living on a fixed income and with Medicare insurance, diagnosed with a leaky heart valve and the need for expensive stroke prevention drugs that Medicare wouldn't cover. Her doctor getting her enrolled into Medicaid AND Medicare has saved her life.

Nearly 14 million people in the U.S. are dually eligible. Most dually eligible people are older adults and people with disabilities who live on low, fixed incomes, manage multiple chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease, and need assistance with daily living activities like getting dressed, bathing, or eating. They tend to be younger, have lower incomes and be people of color compared to traditional Medicare enrollees.
